Digging for Worms

Digging for Worms is great way to have your children work on their fine motor skills while having a blast digging for their snack!

What you’ll need:

  • Chocolate cake

  • Container or bowl

  • Safety tweezers or spoon

  • Gummy worms

3 Easy Steps:

  • Crumble a chocolate cake into your container or bowl

  • Bury gummy worms deep inside

  • Give your children the safety tweezers or spoon and let them dig for worms! The “mud” and “worms” makes for a tasty treat too!

How is this activity beneficial for your child?

Developing your children’s fine motor skills can help train their muscles to perform everyday skills as they grow older. Things such as buttoning up their coat, tying their shoelaces and holding a pencil correctly. Being able to do these daily tasks will help them be more independent and improve their self-esteem.
